Ellie has been a reader ever since she could remember. Reading has been a big part of her life, from reading for enjoyment to reading for school or work. She was taught to read by her parents, but the larger contribution came from the school systems. Reading is knowledge. Without reading, the world would not have this certain unity that it does today. Reading educates people, as well as shows them the things they cannot see. People read for enjoyment and well as business or work related purposes. People read to learn about the things they do not know, or to see different viewpoints. There is no set definition of a good reader. Reading is meant for self fulfillment purposes. To be a good reader, all you need to know is how to read, and anyone can do that. What makes reading for Ellie easy is that she enjoys it, and gets a sense of accomplishment from finishing a book, or learning something new. The way that she looks for a book is pretty simple, if it's fantasy it'll do. She looks for books that exude an air of maturity, as well as an interesting story line. She as a child read at every moment of the day, but as she grew she didn't read as much, but still likes to read a book here and there. Reading is something important to her, because not only does it educate and make her a better reader in the process, it connects you to someone else's mind. That is something strange to wrap your head around, that you are reading someone else's thoughts, especially with older works. Reading is something that she values above many things.
Ellie used to write, back a few years ago, whatever fantasy story came to mind. She never officially learned to write, but instead learned from the reading the she did. She liked to read in a specific format, so therefore liked to use the format to create her writings. People write to share the experiences they've had, to share knowledge to the rest of the world, or just to give others a fun story to occupy their time. There are just somethings that need to be shared, and there are people to share them. To write, it is the same concept as reading, you just need to know how to write! You don't need to be an expert reader or writer to write something, let alone share it with the world. It's your thoughts and your words, regardless of how good of a writer you happen to be. The kind of topics Ellie likes to write about are almost exclusively fantasy. It's not that other topics don't interest her, it just so happens that that is the genre that she enjoys and reads the most. Her ideas come from branches of other books she's read. She will take an idea, and morph it into her own concept and style, or will take it from day dreams or night time dreams. When it comes to professional school writing, ideas come from professional articles or authors that she's read from, and will use some of the concepts and formats and line them up with her own ideas. The response that helps her most as a writer is constructive criticism, whether or not people enjoyed what she wrote, or weather they would read it again or not. She used to write at home almost everyday as a younger child, but as she grew older she didn't write as much. She now writes around a few times a month at home. She feels that what she writes, unless for work or school, isn't all that important, as they are only fun little stories that come up in her head. Although what she writes may not be professional or important, but they make her happy and the people who read them.
